PLEASE…….

Look guys….I really need support in this weight loss journey- but PLEASE don’t send me photos of the LOL cats and such……my computer takes forever to download these things and I only have a few minutes to spend on the computer every day. Notes and words of encouragement are very much welcomed, but the more frustrated i get, the more i want to run to the fridge to pig out…and THAT is exactly what I’m trying to avoid.

I hope this doesn’t offend anyone- I don’t mean for it to……..

Forgive Me……

Forgive me for being a Bad Buddy for the next few days.

My daughter is going for surgery today at noon and I go to the surgeons to find out what’s going on with me this afternoon. So I probably won’t be on here much for the next week or so.

For those challenge groups I have to check in with - I weighed today and I weigh 235. Down ONE more pound from yesterday.

On The Upside…..

Weighed in tonight at work…..down quite a few pounds to 236.

 Not exactly the way I would have chosen to lose a few pounds….but if I get the black cloud- there should be a silver lining  in it for me too, don’t ya think?

Thank goodness.

Tonight I made a Boston Creme cake for a friends B-day. I tried to eat a slice of it- but ate about half and dumped the rest in the trash bin. Too rich.

Well, I tried.

So next three weeks I’ll be losing as much as possible. Going for a big 10 pounds!!!!!!

Waisted Days & Waisted Nights……..

Yeah- I DID actually mean to spell it like that!!

My husband and I have spent the past few days figuring out what we need to take with us camping. Both of us camped with our families when we were young, and loved it- but for some unexplained reason, during the five years we’ve been married, we haven’t thought to get our own camping equipment and go camping altho we have repeatedly mentioned to each other how much we loved it growing up.

Well, that changed this past weekend. We decided we were going to gather our wits about us and finally go camping together.

So we made a list, checked it twice(each), and went this week and bought about half of the things we need.

Paul then promptly came home and christened the bbq grill, making us some lovely spiced grilled chicken breasts! It was wonderful. I made a small mac & cheese pie and so that was our dinner tonight.

As for excersize, I think I got quite a bit doing all the shopping we had to do. It’s close to 95 here today, and it was quite a ways to the car from the parking lots. I also did a bit of housework today despite the heat.

I usually get more excersize at work- I work 12 hour nights at a hospital and am almost constantly walking except for my lunch break. Then I have an hour or so to relax. I work two days, then am off two days, except every other weekend I have three days off. Not a bad deal.  I usually come home and do some type excersize to either a DVD or music from my shuffle.

I try and eat sensibly, most times i win- sometimes I lose the battle and overindulge.

My biggest problem is staying motivated to excersize. Like right now I’m fighting the chocolate urge. And I do mean fighting. I have to admit I’ve been losing much more consistantly since I removed (most of) the chocolate and sodas from my diet. And the cravings aren’t so bad-except forabout a week of the month. But on the days when the URGE hits…it hits meHARD.

Anyway, I remembered that I didn’t have a single pair of shorts to wear when we go camping. So I bought a pair today in a size 20W. I just hope they fit. last time I bought a pair of pants- the were a size 22W and I’ve lost about 11 pounds since then. I’ll try them on later and post the results. We don’t plan on going camping for about three weeks, since my daughter will be having surgery next weekend and I’ll be needing to stay with her for a few days til she’s up and about. So if they don’t fit yet I’ll have a couple weeks to lose a bit more.

Lemme think on that during the days and nights I want to binge on anything I shouldn’t.

Drinks……………..& Apples.

One of the girls who commented on my last post asked if I had tried Crystal Light.

The answer is YES- and i detest them. As I do diet soda in any way shape or form.

I adore water!! Nice and cold with a slice of lime in it is my favorite. I like lemon too. I also drink sweet tea(southern style) but I have pretty much cut out drinking this stuff and colas, unless it’s a celebration, like a Birthday party of some such deal. I LOVE the stuff, but the calories just aren’t WORTH it!!

The only time I usually give in and drink a soda is when I’m taking my headache meds…for migraines….for some reason the carbonation in the sodas seem to speed up the effectiveness of the medications. And when I have a headache- NOTHING(including the calories) is more important than getting rid of the headache as soon as POSSIBLE!

Today was an easy day…I came home, excersized for about a half hour, then went to bed and slept til an hour before time to go to work. Then I cooked Penne pasta with some grilled chicken, ate, and dressed and headed off to work. I brought a serving of the pasta with me for supper and had two 20 oz bottles of water with dinner and another while I’m doing my walk-abouts.

I weighed, and haven’t lost anything more, but then I haven’t gained either. So even tho Aunty Flo hasn’t decided to leave yet- I’m still good with a 9 pound loss. The next three weeks will be easy to take of the extra two pounds that it put on. And then I’ll try and take off another five to go with it  before her next visit.

One of the girls made a comment about not wanting her life to be ruled by her diet….I dont worry bout that- I only worry about having to live my life around My “Favorite Aunt”s Visits, and trying to take off as much weight as possible during the three weeks in between times.

Oh- btw- does eating fruit make any of you guys hungrier than you were before you ate it? It does me- especially APPLES!!! What the heck is THAT about?????

I love coffee, but I rarely drink it now, as well.

Broke is GOOD!

Yeah, thank goodness I didn’t bring any money with me tonight.

I’m absolutely starving and if I had money on me- the vending machine would have to be re-stocked in the morning. And yes, I ate a nice healthy caprese salad tonight for lunch about 11PM. But I need MEAT!!!! AND/OR Chocolate. And LOTS of it.

WHY is it that when It’s “THAT” time of the month, I go into starvation mode?

I mean i would eat stuff i would NEVER let near my body otherwise. Eggplant, tofu, eggplant, rhubarb, soy-shakes……..Right now I might even try some foriegn delicacies.

On the bright side- I only have 4 more hours to go and I can go home where there is healthy food to eat. Eggs, salads, grilled chicken, eggs, ……(I know I keep repeating some foods, but that’s just to make a point….eggplant I DETEST- and EGGS I LOVE!!!)…..and did I mention chicken?

Has anyone ever eaten a grilled chicken breat and scrambled eggs for breakfast before?

I have.

You KNOW…..theres a fox and some cute little bunnies that roam around here at night…and a fully stocked kitchen in the building. Bunny dumplins sound AWFULLY GOOD right now!!

OMG- WHAT am I SAYING?????????? Ignore that last bit about the bunnies and the fox. See what happens when I get hungry? But I would give an arm and possibly a leg for a  bit of grilled chicken right now.

Maybe I should go distract myself with a walk now. …….if anyone is awake at this ungodly hour- and has any suggestions other than walking it off and drinking water(I’ve drank so much water tonight already I’m about to throw up trying to get rid of this hungry feeling!!)PLEASE comment and let me know what it is!!!

Wild Weekend

Saturday night my hubby and I went out to WildWing Cafe with a group of friends. I was afraid to go out to eat for fear of ruining the progress I had made. But not to worry, they had a few great selections on the menu for people trying to watch the weigh. I had a yummy thing called David’s Chicken and Friends. Yummy chicken chunks in an sort of Alfredo sauce with bacon, scallions, chives, peppers and topped with melted cheese. It’s served wit warm tortilla chips-no salt. Don’t worry- I know it sounds very fattening, but I shared with everyone!! Then for my main dinner I had a skewer of grilled shrimp-no seasonings or sauces on those- and a couple of the fries that THAT come with. Since I ate a small caprese salad that morning, I only went over my caloric intake a small amount…if ANY!

Yay me!!

I won’t be weighing this week, not until Aunty Flo leaves. THEN I’ll weigh. I’ve well learned my lesson on that one. Can you believe I can gain 10 POUNDS in fluid retention alone during that week? It’s so frustrating that I refuse to weigh during that time now.

Anyway……That’s been my weekend so far but Tonight Paul and I might be camping out under the stars. We’ll have to see about that.

La!La!La!…Not Looking!!!!!!

I KNEW I shouldn’t have weighed today!!!

Up four pounds- which is par for the course on the week before “Aunty Flo”s Visit.

Yeah, I KNOW it’s a temporary gain….I know it will go away as soon as she leaves….(well, as long as I can stay away from the cravings for the next week) ….That doesn’t make it any easier to see tho.

All I see is the gain and all the hard work of the past two weeks gone.

Bah-Humbug!!!!
